Before Campfire

Before Campfire was a company, the groundwork was at Aalborg University. Hands-on cybersecurity research had grown into labs, competitions and a community that learned by solving real problems.

Meet the Firekindlers

The people who build the training and work with customers, partners and the community.

  • Jens Myrup

    Jens is Denmark's first professor of cybersecurity, coach of the Danish cyber national team, and a member of the government's cybersecurity council. He is also a dedicated educator and received the National Teaching Award in 2022. Alongside his work at Campfire Security, he is a professor at Aarhus University.

  • Kristian Larsen

    Kristian holds an MSc in control and automation from Aalborg University and spent two years after graduating as a research assistant developing interactive cybersecurity training for different audiences. He then co-founded Campfire Security.

  • Kristian Meincke

    Kristian holds an MSc in signal processing from Aalborg University and has since worked in industries such as satellites, matching the right product to the customer. At Campfire Security he makes sure customers get solutions that fit their needs, and that training lives up to their expectations.

  • Mikkel Christiansen

    Mikkel holds an MSc in cybersecurity from Aalborg University and has built cybersecurity training platforms since his student days – and later as a research assistant at Aalborg University. He also has two years' experience as a software engineer and cybersecurity specialist before joining Campfire Security full time.

  • Amar D.

    Amar is a computer scientist and holds an MSc in cybersecurity from Aalborg University. He has worked with cybersecurity in large Danish companies. Otherwise he's mostly here for the campfire vibes, toasted marshmallows, twist bread over a piping-hot server, and the good atmosphere.
